Burway News Headlines

Looking forward to welcoming

Everyone to the Burway Head

Burway won back the Boxing Day Cup

from Staines Boat Club

with a powerful display of rowing

despite a last minute replacement

due to sickness, Tina was roused

from a deep sleep to slot in at 3

and finally woke up on reaching Staines

The crew were from stroke to bow,

Ellie who coxed,

Edwin, Jack, Richard, Tom,

Henry, Tina, Rob, Mark.

Thank you to

 SBC for their great hospitality.

We will see you at Burway next year

Burway Small Boats Head

Continuing its tradition

of a challenging course,

Many thanks to the Organisers,

particularly Ruth and Gary,

Race Officials, Volunteers and

the many welcome Competitors

who made it

Another fantastic day of racing

And especially:

congratulations to Burway’s

The Burway AGM was held on the 14th October with new faces added to the committee

A boat naming ceremony took place

After the AGM

A coxless quad was named after

Henry Wood

"Henry joined the club in the ’60s

and while not competing

he was always at the club

giving support where he could.

Henry particularly enjoyed

the social events and

rowing in the Sunday vets eight,

a true club member"

he next junior Learn to Scull course

will be taking place over

It is with regret that the club has been informed of the sad passing of Jim Russell, Jim was and active member and coach for a considerable number of years at Burway during which time he actively encouraged older members of the club to continue rowing in a "Sunday Morning Eight"

The thoughts of the Club are with his family at this sad time
